      The Idan Raichel Project returns to Vancouver at the Vogue Theatre (918 Granville Street) on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. Vancouver’s own Babe Gurr will open the show as part of Chutzpah!PLUS.

      Idan Raichel is an Israeli singer-songwriter known for his distinctive blend of traditional Hebrew texts, Middle Eastern, African, Indian, and Latin American musical styles, and electronics through the Idan Raichel Project.

      Armed with a 10-member ensemble of extraordinary musicians, the collective will rework tried-and-true songs that Raichel is best known for. The Idan Raichel Project will also perform new materian from the 2013 album, Quarter to Six.

      Singer-songwriter Babe Gurr explores world music with Italian, Spanish, Middle Eastern, and New Orleans influences on her current album, SideDish. At the show, Gurr will be accompanied by her six-piece band.

      Tickets to this all-ages show are $42 and can be purchased online in advance.
