Live Nation has announced that Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi will be performing together for the Generation Axe--A Night of Guitars.

The supergroup will play a show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Wednesday, April 6.

The fan experience on the Generation Axe will go way beyond simply gathering five guitar greats on one stage to jam.  Each tour stop will include a variety of collaborations by the five players, including everyone performing together as one cohesive band with a rhythm section including Pete Griffin (Dweezil Zappa, Stanley Clarke, Edgar Winter) on bass and Nick Marinovich (Yngwie Malmsteen) on keys.

Vai, Wylde, Malmsteen, Bettencourt, and Abasi will perform songs from their various catalogues and join forces on some well-known songs (as well as probably a few unexpected, unearthed gems).

Tickets for the all-ages show are priced at $39, $65, and $89 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (February 19) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.
