Alas, Julia Mark from Burnaby just missed making the final top 10 on Masterchef Canada.

After a surprise double pressure test, she was eliminated from Season 3 of the TV cooking competition on April 10.

The chefs first had to cook a butter-poached maritime lobster in 20 minutes.

The bottom two, Mark and Edmonton's Terry Adido, were then given another chance for a spot in the top 10 (a first for the show) by facing a second challenge: replicating a steak au poivre in a mere 15 minutes. Mark was subsequently sent home by the judges.

Burnaby's Julia Mark was eliminated from MasterChef Canada Season 3.

Two competitors from B.C. did make the cut though: Jacqueline Clark from Abbotsford and Matthew Astorga from Pitt Meadows.

Abbotsford's Jacqueline Clark was the other B.C. home cook who made MasterChef Canada's top 10.

The other home cooks who made the top 10 include:

      • April Lee Baker, from Calgary, Alberta
      • Jennifer Baglione, from Maple, Ontario
      • Jeremy Senaris, from Winnipeg, Manitoba
      • Mary Berg, from Toronto, Ontario
      • Michelle Nault, from Bolton, Ontario
      • Shawn Karls, from Montreal, Quebec
      • Terry Adido, from Edmonton, Alberta
      • Veronica Cham, from Toronto, Ontario

Masterchef Canada is on hiatus on Sunday (April 3) for the 2016 Juno Awards, and then returns on April 10 on CTV.
