The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Dancing on the Edge

      Dancing on the Edge, a contemporary dance festival, takes place across various Vancouver venues from July 3 to 12. This year, performances will take place at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 East Cordova Street), Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street), Chapel Arts (304 Dunlevy Avenue), SFU Woodward’s Atrium (149 West Hastings Street), and Crab Park (101 East Waterfront).

      Canada’s longest-running dance festival will feature over 70 dance artists performing in 30 works over 10 days this year. Nine world premieres, including works by Meghan Goodman, Karissa Barry, and Yvonne Chartrand will make their debuts.

      Senior choreographers such as Deborah Hay, Christopher House, Tedd Robinson, Jennifer Mascall, and Karen Jamieson will be in attendance, as will younger artists, including Arash Khakpour, Vanessa Goodman, Lara Kramer, Deanna Peters, and Olivia C. Davies.
