Felindr—Mother's Day edition: Crystal the mom and Gabrielle the daughter
Welcome to a special Mother’s Day edition of Felindr, the Georgia Straight's feline adoption web feature.
Each profile is of an eligible catchelor or catchelorette from VOKRA, the non-profit Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association dedicated to the rescue of cats in the Lower Mainland.
Names: Crystal and Gabrielle
Profession: professional single mother and professional daughter
We’re seeking: love and affection (well, who isn’t?) and our forever home
Physical description: Crystal looks chic yet professional in her black-and-white suit while Gabrielle, like many stylish and hip teenagers, prefers an all-black wardrobe, although she is willing to spruce things up with the occasional accent like a red bow tie.
Ethnicity: Yes.
Want kids? Crystal already has a kid but they're fine with other kids too.
Smoke: We’re clean-living cats.
Drink: Water is delicious.
Faith: In ourselves? Of course—we are empowered and strong women!
Our purrsonalities: Crystal is loving and affectionate while Gabrielle is livin’ life ’n' lovin’ it despite the fact that she has cerebral hypoplasia, a condition that makes her a little wobbly at times but doesn’t stop her from being an active, empowered kitty.
Our conversational interests: Here are some examples of things we commonly say:
"Mom, can I borrow some meowney?"
“You can only go out tonight, Gabrielle, if you’re home by your 10 o’clock catfew.”
“Gabrielle, don’t let me catch you seeing that tom cat down the lane again. He’s probably got fleas.”
Our hobbies: Gabrielle loves climbing trees (cat trees, that is), both like to pretend they’re competing in mother-daughter pageants, both enjoy making home videos
Our likes: being pet, purrs and kisses
Our dislikes: deadbeat alley cats who leave us barefoot and pregnant (hiss!)
Our motto: Who run the world? Cats.
Our expectations of a relationship: love, love, and food (which is the same thing)
