Dude Chilling Park sign vandalized again
Dude Chilling Park's signage has been vandalized yet again.
Spotted on August 13, the word Dude has been struck through, with the word Girl crudely painted on it, along with a heart and the symbol for woman.
This is not the first time the sign has been targeted; in July, a tagger sprayed out the name on the sign and replaced it with Guelph Park (the official name of the park).
Andrea Woo The Dude Chilling sign itself was originally created as a cheeky form of vandalism; after an outpouring of support from the community, the sign became official in February 2014. However, the sign's existence is obviously irksome to at least a few people in the city.
The crude tag has been reported to the city's maintenance department and will be cleaned up soon.
Hey, while the crews are there, could they maybe empty the damn trash cans, too?

Considering the effort the Vancouver Park Board made to become more trans-inclusive, perhaps this park realized it's transgender and is undergoing a transition?

Watch how fast this sign gets cleaned up by Park Board.
Meanwhile our local park had overflowing garbage containers for 5 days last week. That doesn't seem important to Park Board.

As I predicted, the sign is all cleaned up and is as good as new.
Park garbage can sit in overflowing containers for days and days and days. Park Board is not concerned about that.
But anybody touch the "Dud Chilling Park" sign and Park Board will move heaven and earth to clean it up.
Hmmm ……...I wonder why that is?
