A sign of the times: no formal asking price for Kitsilano apartment block

The father-and-son real-estate team of David and Mark Goodman are advertising a new listing.

But unlike most of their other apartment offerings, this one comes with no formal asking price.

Instead, the 12-suite rental building at 2475 West 1st Avenue is being subject to a "bid process".

The deadline for submitting offers for the 54-year-old building is June 15.

Vancouverites are getting used to hearing about loony bids for relatively small parcels of land.

In one of the most extreme examples, the South China Morning Post recently reported that buyers paid $68-million for a Nelson Street building that was purchased in 2013 for $16.8 million.

Nothing makes sense anymore in Vancouver's overheated real-estate market. This is why we'll likely see more homes and apartments listed with no asking price.
