Who Did Your Ink? is the Straight’s weekly feature, where we ask badass Vancouverites about the talented artists, indelible stories, and, at times, questionable antics behind their most treasured tattoos.

      Whats your name? Moorea Hum.

What do you do? I am a tattoo artist at Three Point Tattoo (27 West Pender Street).

Who did your ink? So many people! I've moved around Canada a fair bit, so I've been able to collect from artists all over the country. Most recently, I had ones done by my good friends Nate Browns from Kettle Valley Tattoo in Penticton, and Gabe Lavoie from Ligne Verte in Montreal.

Why did you choose these artists to do your tattoos? I choose the artists because their art and style of tattooing is something that I am looking for or admire. I also love getting pieces from my tattoo artist friends and supporting their work.

Is there any meaning behind them? There's meaning behind some of them. I like to think about tattoos marking a period of time—I'll always remember where I was, and who I was with, when I got them.

Who’s your favourite local tattoo artist? Oh my! Our city has so many great artists! Sonya Opal, Baily Howatt, Jesse Williams, Nomi ChiKyle Hoffarth, Eric Brunning, Alison Woodward... I could just go on and on!

What’s next on your ink list? I'd like to get my hand tattooed next. I've got a couple of artists in mind, but they are all overseas. Maybe I'll plan a tattoo trip for the fall!
