Vancouver reacts to Orlando gay nightclub mass shooting

      Like numerous others across the country and around the world, Vancouverites are responding in various ways to the shooting at Orlando, Florida, gay nightclub Pulse on June 12 that resulted in 50 people being killed and numerous others wounded.

      A vigil will be held in Vancouver at 8 p.m. at the Vancouver Art Gallery. 

      In New Westminister, a vigil will be held at the rainbow crosswalks.

      People have taken to social media to express their reactions to the shootings.

      Mayor Gregor Robertson and the City of Vancouver, MLA Spencer Chandra Herbert, B.C. Premier Christy Clark, Vancouver-Granville MP and Justice Minister Jody Wilison-Raybould, Vancouver Centre MP Hedy Fry, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and many other politicians have all commented on the tragic events:
