When is rape not rape?
According to musician/terrible human being CeeLo Green, it's whenever you have sex with a woman while she's unconscious.
After pleading no contest to felony charges on August 29—for drugging a woman with ecstasy against her knowledge while on a date, no less—Green took to Twitter to discuss the true nature of rape, spouting out words of wisdom like, "Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"
According to Green, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent".
Hear that? In Green's world, "being unconscious" is the new "I consent to sexual activity with whomever is in the room". Obviously if a woman doesn't want to hop on your dick, she wouldn't have agreed to go on a date with you or imbibed that drink you so thoughtfully drugged for her.
On September 1, Green returned to Twitter to state he "sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context."
Green has since deleted all tweets relating to the truly disgusting things that he said.
He reportedly disabled his Twitter account temporarily, but only briefly since he has a new single to promote.
UPDATE: According to Variety, TBS cancelled the reality TV show CeeLo Green’s The Good Life prior to the singer's controversial remarks.
Hey, CeeLo: fuck you.
