Welcome to Felindr, the Georgia Straight's feline adoption web feature.
Each profile is of an eligible catchelor or catchelorette from VOKRA, the non-profit Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association dedicated to the rescue of cats in the Lower Mainland.
Names: Asteroid, Cosmo, Luna, Moonshine, and Nova
Purrfession: Astrologers, rocket scientists, and space cadets
We're seeking: a planet to call home
Physical description: Asteroid, Luna, and Nova are moonrock-striped; Cosmo is galactic grey; and Moonshine is black-hole ebony
Ethnicity: aliens (that's what people keep calling us)
Want kids? If they are mature enough to understand what we talk about (see conversational interests below)
Smoke: Oxygen doesn't exist in space so we don't know what that is
Drink: We like drinking from the Milky Way
Faith: We believe that, yes, there is intelligent life on planet Earth (we just haven't found it yet)
Our purrsonalities: Asteroid shyly orbits people, Cosmo will play into deep space, Luna gently and sweetly shines, Moonshine is easily distracted—hey, did you see that shooting star?, and Nova may seem shy but can easily burst into a solar flare of fun
Our conversational interests: how to use galactic wormholes to your advantage, using the time-space continuum to make a hyperspace jump (from furniture to window sills), debating whether the asteroid belt is really made up of Meow Mix
Our hobbies: riding comets, scratching Saturn's rings, shooting lasers from our eyes, hanging out with Nyan Cat
Our likes: the Felis, Lynx, Leo, and Leo Minor constellations
Our dislikes: Canis Major and Minor, Sirius the Dog Star
Our motto: To boldly go where no kitten has gone before
Our expectations of a relationship: That you will be our sun and we will be your solar system
