Vendor Profile: Guichon Farms co-owned by Kelly Guichon.

What do you sell? We sell potatoes, carrots, kale, spinach, English peas, tomatoes, all varieties of fruit, corn on the cob, green and yellow beans, and our array of winter veggies when they’re available.

How did you get into your business? My husband’s the third generation of this business, so our farm has been established for over 100 years.

What’s your specialty? We supply all the White Spots and numerous other grocery chains. We’re famous for our Kennebec potatoes, and also our varieties of corn that we sell. We’ve won taste-testing awards for our candy cane corn three to four years in a row. It’s not a bi-colour, it’s a solid colour and it is unbelievable.

Favourite item you sell? When corn is in season, we love that. Of course, we have such an array of products, we’re known for everything that we sell.

Favourite thing about the city’s farmers markets? Establishing relationships and loyalty and people wanting to buy fresh food!
