Felindr Kittens of the Week: The Cosplay Kitties

      Welcome to Felindr, the Georgia Straight's feline adoption web feature.   

      Each profile is of an eligible catchelor or catchelorette from VOKRA, the non-profit Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association dedicated to the rescue of cats in the Lower Mainland.

      Names: Albus, Baggins, Hufflepuff, Samwise, Starbuck

      Purrfession: Pro cosplayers

      We're seeking: Other cosplayers to catplay with

      Albus loves teaching the other kittens spells—until he remembers he's a cat and can't speak.

      Physical description: Albus is a Dumbledore grey and white, Baggins is a Hobbit grey on top and white underneath, Hufflepuff is Hogwarts grey, Samwise is similar to Baggins but has more white, Starbuck is deep-space black with supernova white

      Ethnicity: Hobbitian, Muggle-magical ancestry, and Caprican

      Want kids? The only one who dislikes the company of children is Hufflepuff because she has to concentrate on studying her spells. The rest of us are game if they are.

      Here is visual proof that Hufflepuff can cast a spell to make balls float in the air.

      Smoke: There's plenty of that when we magically disappear!

      Drink: Magical potions, for sure. And space juice.

      Faith: We believe in the power of magic. And starfighter jets.

      Samwise is a loyal companion on any journey—until he gets hungry for treats.

      Our purrsonalities: Albus is a quiet gentleman, Baggins is adventurous and fearless (she even befriends dogs!), Hufflepuff is full of delicate magic, and Starbuck—in contrast to the hot-headed role she cosplays—is much more gentle and friendly

      Our conversational interests: The Felineship of the Ring, Harry Catter, Cattlestar Galcatica

      Our hobbies: chasing after Gollums, battling Lord Dogemort, shooting down Cylons
