The fourth annual Brewery and the Beast festival took place over the weekend (July 24), which saw meat and beer-lovers alike gather at Concord Pacific Place (88 Pacific Boulevard) for an afternoon of eating and drinking.
The ethically sourced meats-focused event saw more than 45 Vancouver and Whistler restaurants participate, including fine-dining spots such as Hawksworth Restaurant and West Restaurant + Bar, as well as casual eateries like Tap & Barrel and Dixie’s BBQ.
Guests indulged in everything from grilled chicken wings to wild boar, rotisserie beef sirloin caps to grilled pacific octopus, and kale Caesar salad with apple wood smoked chicken thigh to smoked beef brisket tacos.
With the mighty sun blazing down on festival-goers, plenty of beverage options were offered—including Phillips Brewing Company’s 35-tap craft brew “Gypsy” wagon, ciders from Left Field Cider Co., wines from Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, Phillips home-made sodas, and more.
Tickets ($99.75 plus tax) went on sale back in May, and were long sold-out before it took place in the midst of summer. The Straight was invited to the meat extravaganza as a media guest, and got to experience the definition of an epic barbecue.
