Joan Cusack replaces brother John Cusack as Vancouver graffiti artist's favourite

A while ago, the name "John Cusack" started showing up in graffiti around Vancouver.

The star of David Cronenberg's new film, Maps to the Stars, denied last year and again this year that he played any role in these tags.

Then in another tweet, he suggested that his sister Joan, also an actor, should be featured instead of him.

Lo and behold, look at what has appeared one of those metal boxes near the corner of Ash Street and West 10th Avenue. (See above.)

Joan Cusack has also been tagged in the Kerrisdale area.

Her lengthy list of credits include Grosse Pointe Blank, starring brother John, and Toy Story 2.

Last year, Straight contributor Michael Mann noted that part of the charm of the Mohinder tags around town is their shittiness.

The same could be said about the Joan Cusack markings.

But despite any appeal they may have, the perpetrator is taking a risk.

Under Vancouver graffiti bylaw 7343, the minimum fine for tagging property is $500.

We've had a Joan Cusack on our corner at Bute and Nelson for months now. She's all over the place
