Video: Jian Ghomeshi 1996 improv entitled "All My Fans Make Me Sick"
Long before Jian Ghomeshi became a famous CBC broadcaster and 18 years before he was fired as host of Q, he composed a little ditty that reflected contempt for admirers of his band, Moxy Fruvous.
It was called "All My Fans Make Me Sick" and even though it was recorded in 1996, it was only posted on YouTube yesterday.
"I just want to say it sounds like a bit of a joke song but it's something that I really mean," Ghomeshi says in the video. "I just find that there's a lot of people, for instance, at the Buffalo show tonight in the audience who are, for lack of a better term, losers. And you just look out there and you just go, 'You fucking idiots.' What are you paying to see this group for? You, you're so below us."
He acknowledges that the band's fans are "human beings", albeit "really ignorant".
"You ever accidentally stepped on a bug like you didn't actually mean to kill it? But you don't feel bad? You know? I feel kind of that way sometimes when I snub some fans," Ghomeshi says. "Yeah, I'm saying this with a smile but I am serious."

I agree with him to the extent that being a fan of the lameass, pretentious novelty band Moxy Fruvous either required substandard intelligence or bad drugs.

...one wonders what kind of person would pay money to see the likes of moxy fruvous...have you heard any of their so-called 'music'?! I think I'd pay NOT to have to hear it, or anything like it, EVER!!!

I feel terrible when I step on a bug, even if it is an accident.

What he's allegedly done to women is terrible. What he's doing in this joke is obviously tongue-in-cheek. Anyone who misses that is an idiot.
