Libertarian Leader Tim Moen invites Jodie Emery to join his party

It didn't take long for the Libertarian Party of Canada to come knocking on Jodie Emery's door.

On January 16, the federal Liberals told her that she couldn't seek the party's nomination in Vancouver East.

Two days later, Libertarian Leader Tim Moen had a video on YouTube inviting Emery to join his crusade to remake Canada.

He claimed that she represents a "threat to the status quo".

Moen also said that it's "sad" that Emery, who still supports the federal Liberals, will become an "impotent voice co-opted by the status quo to parrot the talking points and help these guys win popularity contests".

"[Liberal Leader Justin] Trudeau is as bland and vanilla and as minimally inoffensive as he can be—all wrapped up in a polished package that you can’t not buy, right?" Moen said, mocking the Liberal leader.

At times, the Fort McMurray–based Moen's pitch sounded more like an appeal to gun owners to abandon the federal Conservatives.

"Take a lesson from firearms activists," the Libertarian leader advised. "These are nonviolent people looking to have their basic human rights respected, just like cannabis activists. And according to a big chunk of these firearms activists, they can’t risk Trudeau getting elected. I mean, they imagine that as bad as things are with Harper and as terrible as he was at advancing their cause, Trudeau will make things worse. He’s the devil incarnate. Does this line of thinking sound familiar at all? Has all these years with Harper made any difference for firearms activists? No. No it hasn’t. Harper is as bland and as minimally offensive as Trudeau. These guys both pay lip service to their voters and do absolutely nothing to advance the causes that they pay lip service to.”

The root of the problem, according to Moen, is that the other federal leaders don't make efforts to change the public's mind on issues. Instead, he said, they've become "empty shells who simply reflect what they're told to reflect by the population that keeps them in power".

“As long as firearms activists will happily throw cannabis growers in jail in exchange for keeping their guns and as long as cannabis activists will happily throw firearms owners in jail as long as they can grow cannabis, the status quo will be maintained and we can expect zero meaningful change to happen," he claimed. "Neither Harper nor Trudeau is going to make anything appreciably better or worse for cannabis growers or firearms owners. Don’t have any hope but don’t have any fear. Status quo is going to be maintained.”

He urged Emery to join the Libertarians and become a "beacon of liberty".

"Research shows that societal change occurs when a tipping point of 10 percent  of people adopt an unshakeable belief system," Moen maintained. "This is what happened with the abolition of slavery; it happened with women’s suffrage; it happened with the civil rights movement. Do you seriously think that any political party chasing votes and power will help people adopt an unshakeable belief system in liberty or human rights?"

Tim Moen and his team are promoting the only Party of Freedom and common sense. Thanks for everything you do - let's hope Jodie sees the light sometime in the near future!

I think Tim is bang on on the approach to achieving liberty in our lifetime. If the message of liberty is correct Harper and Trudeau will be getting talking points from Tim.

We have seen what a liberal government will do. There is no hope there. We have seen the horror of a conservative majority and if we do not change it our gutless coward of a leader is going to send our soldiers off to kill people in Ukraine, Syria and Iraq.

The Libertarian party is the only party that is offering anything new and worthwhile.

Be careful what you wish for Canada.... be careful who you promote .. be careful who you idolize .. be careful who you embrace as 'your candidate' ... there are many wolves in sheep clothing out there today in the political arena, which is a place for great paycheques and pensions and lots of hot air ... just... be ... aware to the 'communitarian' agenda ... and stay peaceful.
