The annual WE Day Vancouver, aimed to inspire youth to make a difference locally and globally, takes place on November 3 at Rogers Arena.

This year's lineup of performers and speakers features a number of big names from both sides of the 49th parallel.

From the world of music, there's American Idol judge and pop star Paula Abdul, and a bevy of Canadian talent, including Canadian singer-songwriter Serena Ryder, rapper Kardinal Offishall, Hedley lead singer Jacob Hoggard, Coquitlam singer Tyler Shaw, and First Nations singer-songwriter and activist Ta'kaiya Blaney.

From the screen industries, there's Star Trek star and social activist George Takei, Vancouver child star Jacob Tremblay (Room), actress and singer Olivia Holt (Kickin' It), and Canadian YouTube stars Lilly Singh and Jusreign.

Canada's former First Lady Margaret Trudeau and National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Perry Bellegarde will also make appearances at the event.

Last year, over 920 British Columbian schools participated in WE Day.

To attend the event, schools and groups must complete one local and one global social-justice action for the WE Schools program.
