The Straight gets to know some of the artists participating in this year’s upcoming Eastside Culture Crawl.

Who are you? Carol McQuaid, Vancouver-based painter, printmaker, author, and workshop instructor.

Where is your studio? My studio is in Chinatown at the corner of Georgia and Gore.  It's a working studio and gallery where I work, teach classes and host printmaking parties. The address is 185-288 East Georgia Street.

How many years have you participated in the East Side Culture Crawl? This is my first year in the Crawl.

What’s your medium? I create cityscapes in a combination of relief printmaking and watercolour.

What are some new pieces we can find at your studio during this year’s Crawl? 'Robson Street 360' is an 8’ long panoramic woodcut capturing the vibrancy of Robson Square—buildings, food trucks, shoppers and all. I’ll be showing a series of cityscapes from Vancouver, Italy, Spain and France. I'll also be featuring a series of hand-pulled relief print cards.
