      The Straight gets to know some of the studios and artists participating in this year’s upcoming Eastside Culture Crawl.

      Name of studio? Railtown Studios.

      Address? 321 Railway Street.

      How many years has the studio participated in the East Side Culture Crawl? 18 years.

      What is the history of this building? An old ice factory/cold storage that serviced the fishing industry. It was rebuilt in 1998 by Reliance Properties to create artist live/work studios. 

      How many artists work in the studio? There are 45 artists’ studios in Railtown and 10 will be opening their doors. We will also have a preview show in the Ice Box Gallery and the Underground Gallery. These galleries were opened by the artists two years ago and we feature new shows every two months. The Ice Box will feature a preview show of the participating artists.

      Artists participating in the Crawl include: Brian C. Cyr, Aurélia Bizouard, J.A. Benskin, Brandon Stephenson, Galen Felde, Isabel Lange, jOnezi , Suzy King, and Philip McDermott.
