On February 4, 8 p.m., dirtsong comes to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (650 Hamilton).

Presented as part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, dirtsong sees Australia's Black Arm Band perform harmonies and vocals in nearly a dozen languages, drawing on 40,000 years of tradition to showcase the country's rich culture.

PuSh artistic and executive director Norman Armour says that he believes that "celebrating the enduring, deep-seated cultures of our overseas peers can empower us further along our own path to reconciliation."

Dirtsong was commissioned for Australia's Truth and Reconciliation Hearings process and is named to honour the bond between indigenous peoples and the soil they call home.

Tickets for dirtsong range from $25 to $45 and are available online or by calling 604-449-6000.
