From January 27-29, LunarFest comes to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza (West Georgia and Hamilton) and CBC Studio 700 (700 Hamilton).
This year, participants can celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rooster with a range of music, workshops, dance, crafts, and a cafe.
Of particular interest is Juno nominees Ginalina and Michel Bruyer, who will lead a workshop to help kids create a song to ring in the Year of the Rooster.
The public can also take in the Tung and Bedzvin Duo's blend of vocals, Chinese erhu, and Ukrainian cello, as well as traditional Korean dance and music in Grace Lee Music's East Meets West.
The festival also presents an Art of the Rooster exhibition, which is featured at Oakridge Centre (650 West 41st) from January 18 to February 5. The collection features the work of a number of Taiwanese emerging artists and their interpretations of the Year of the Rooster and its accompanying zodiac characteristics.
LunarFest would like to acknowledge the contribution of the following partners: Alive Health Centre, Belpark, Boys' Co, DKNY, Kin's Farm Market, Peninsula Seafood Restaurant, Shifeon, Silkway Travel and Cruise, Taste of Life Magazine, and Westbank.
