From February 16 to March 13, the Chutzpah Festival takes over various Vancouver venues.

The 17th annual event is set to showcase dance, theatre, comedy, music, and signature events by local, national, and international performing artists.

Chutzpah Festival artistic and managing director Mary-Louise Albert says that this year's program is a "journey from stand-up comedy and improv theatre, to theatrical drama to rich global music to explosive and elegant dance to special presentations including a literary event and film series."

Dance fans can take in performances by Italy's Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, Israel's Yossi Berg and Oded Graf Dance Theatre, the U.S.'s Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion, and Canada's Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg.

Featured concerts include music by Grammy-winners The Klezmatics, Shalom Hanoch with Moshe Levi, Maya Avraham Band, Lyla Canté, and MARBIN.

Theatre fans can take advantage of the thought-provoking play Wrestling Jerusalem and the multicultural improvisation of Folk Lordz, while comedy events include performances by Mark Schiff, Ali Hassan, and Judy Gold.

Special presentations include screenings of films such as The History of Love and The Last Laugh as part of Chutzpah!PLUS.

Tickets for the Chutzpah Festival start at $23 and are available online or by phone at 604-257-5145.
