For a former porn star to pursue a career in a country's film industry where mere kissing stirs up controversy and censorship sounds like an impossible mission. But Canadian-born Sunny Leone did it, even becoming the most web searched personality in India.

Canadian filmmaker Dilip Mehta (brother to celebrated Canadian director Deepa Mehta) profiled Leone, who was born Karenjit Kaur Vaura in Sarnia, Ontario, in the documentary Mostly Sunny.

After moving to the U.S., Leone got her start in the porn industry, eventually making her way into Bollywood—but not without paying the price of criticism and controversy.

The film had a theatrical run in Canada and will air on home screens on HBO Canada on Monday (April 24) at 7 p.m. After its broadcast, it will also be available online on TMN Go.
