Earlier in his career, Liam Neeson was one of those sensitive guys who had angst written all over his face playing title roles in such films as Schindler's List and Michael Collins.

It reached a pinnacle in 2003 when he played Daniel in the treacly Love, Actually.

But in more recent years, Neeson become the 21st-century equivalent of Charles Bronson.

And it was this gunslinger who showed up recently in downtown New Westminster.

Neeson has been in B.C. this spring to film Hans Petter Moland's Hard Powder.

According to IMDB, it's about a snowplow driver bent on revenge against the drug dealers he blames for the death of his son.

It was being shot in Alberta, but the production moved to B.C in the wake of a controversy over the portrayal of an indigenous crime boss.

It was because Parks Canada refused to grant permits in the Rocky Mountains.
