Burgoo Bistro managed to chance upon some rather ideal weather to open up its fifth location in.

The local restaurant has developed a fan base for its stews, soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, and other comforting dishes that are particularly perfect for the Raincouver conditions we've been enduring for some time.

Its fifth location officially opened this week in downtown Vancouver at 101–1100 Burrard Street (at Helmcken Street) across from St. Paul's Hospital and on ground level below the Burrard Motor Inn.

The approximately 3,000-square-feet spot seats about 75 people, with plans to open a patio in the future.

The menu features the same items as the other locations, which are in Point Grey, North Vancouver, Mount Pleasant, and Kitsilano, but now downtowners don't have to leave the city core or the West End for their meals.

On the other hand, if you don't even want to or can't leave home, you can always pick up a copy of their cookbook, Burgoo: Food for Comfort, or try making this grilled cheese sandwich from one of their recipes.
