A ravenous sea lion has become a magnet for visitors to the community of Steveston.

CBC News has reported that a large crowd showed up on the docks today with cellphones hoping to see the suddenly famous marine mammal.

Yesterday, it snatched a girl from the dock and dragged her into the water. She was rescued by a man believed to be her grandfather.

The general manager of the Steveston Harbour Authority, Rob Bazuk, told CBC that the area is "going to become synonymous with the Jaws theme pretty soon".

Despite what happened yesterday, children were seen leaning over the dock and peering into the water.

Yesterday's incident went viral with people from around the world weighing in with comments over social media.

CNN's legal analyst, Danny Cevallos, even chimed in with his opinion, claiming that the girl survived not because of the heroic man, but because she was not appetizing to the sea lion.

And no, Cevallos didn't think that the Steveston Harbour Authority could be held legally liable for the actions of wild animals swimming in the area.
