MasterChef Canada Season 4 finale: It's Vancouver versus Edmonton

    1 of 3 2 of 3

With the elimination of one more home cook on MasterChef Canada, the final duo to face off in a culinary showdown has been revealed.

It's Vancouver versus Edmonton—but in actuality Vancouver will be connected to the winner either way.

On the May 25 episode, the three finalists faced the task of filling display cases with desserts, ranging from pink peppercorn chocolate truffles to Earl Grey cream puffs.

Although Vancouver's Barrie McConachie was named the winner of the dessert challenge, he lost the elimination challenge, involving the preparation of luxury protein, when he left his Wagyu beef borderline raw.

Will Vancouver's Thea VanHerwaarden have the last laugh? (And eat all her veggies?)

Consequently, the two remaining homecooks are Vancouver's Thea VanHerwaarden (originally from Comox, B.C.) and Edmonton's Trevor Connie (whose hometown is Vancouver). The winner will receive $100,000 and the title of MasterChef Canada.

Or will Edmonton's Trevor Connie hit a home run? (PS Don't forget to eat all your veggies.)

The Season 4 finale will air at 9 p.m. on June 1 on CTV. To determine the winner, the two finalists will only be given a three-hour timeframe to create a three-course meal.
