West End Car Free Festival turns most of Denman Street into community gathering space
West End residents learned once again how a major street can come to life once the motor vehicles are removed.
Car Free Day Vancouver organized today's car-free festival on Denman Street between Robson and Davie streets.
Sunday's event (June 18) takes place on Main Street between East Broadway and East 30th Avenue. There are also car-free block parties in Kitsilano this weekend.
For more information on the origins of car-free days, check out this article, which appeared in this week's print edition of the Georgia Straight.
