On July 1, Richmond Canada Day in Steveston takes over Steveston Village.

In celebration of Canada's upcoming 150th birthday, the City of Richmond is hosting a free, full-day street party throughout Steveston Village.

Music fans can take in concerts by Canadian indie-rock band Wintersleep, Vancouver blues duo the Harpoonist and the Axe murderer, and up-cand-coming dream-pop band Youngblood.

In addition to live music filling the streets, guests can explore free activities from the Gulf of Georgia National Historic Site down to Imperial Landing and extending to the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. Visitors can also drop into the Steveston Museum and Steveston Interurban Tram for more experiences celebrating Richmond's heritage.

From June 30 to July 2, the Riverside Village at Imperial Landing and Britannia Shipyards will feature over a dozen historic ships available for free boarding, including Hawaiian Chieftain, Adventuress, SS Master, and River Queen.

Another notable highlight is the Steveston Salmon Festival, which will include a Canada Day parade, music by Canadian blues rockers Tom Lavin and the Legendary Powder Blues, a food-truck festival, and an all-ages carnival zone, in addition to an open-air salmon barbecue.

The celebrations will end with a fireworks show along the historic Steveston waterfront.
