A grocery store in the West End has faced a series of short-lived changeovers, only to finally end its run.

In late 2014, a natural food store opened up at 1722 Davie Street before closing down after a mere two weeks in business. According to the Vancouver Sun, the owner went bankrupt.

The Victoria-based Pomme Natural Market moved in and took over the premises in January 2015 and operated for two years as a health-oriented grocery store. (Pomme also operates stores in Port Coquitlam and Nanaimo.)

In January of this year, the store changed hands again, this time becoming Earth Market Organic Food and Vitamins, which offered a variety of organic produce, household products, supplements, a deli, and more.

However, the store struggled to attract customers, and faced competition from nearby grocery stores such as Golden Choice Market, Safeway, No Frills, and Kin's Farm Market, as well as London Drugs.

Alas, over the Canada Day weekend, the store closed down and is now empty.

Meanwhile, next door in the former Relish Gourmet Burgers, which closed at the end of 2016, Pacifico Pizza will be opening up at 1708 Davie Street.
