From August 4 to 13, the Harmony Arts Festival takes over West Vancouver's waterfront (Argyle Avenue, from 14th to 17th).

The 27th annual celebration of the arts will feature visual-art exhibitions, an art market, culinary experiences, and live concerts.

New features this year are a newly expanded park area, new exhibition Home, Shelter, Belonging, interactive media installation Daylight and Twilight,  and a free shuttle service running from Canada Place to Park Royal Shopping Centre and the festival itself.

Visual-arts highlights include a group exhibition, a children's-art exhibition, kids' arts and crafts, work by feature artist Pierre Coupey, the Fresh St. Market Art Market, and ArtSpeaks, a series of workshops, demonstrations, and talks.

Culinary highlights include the Best of the West food-pairing competition, bartending event Mixology on the Pier, food carts and vendors at Artisan Eats, food by Caffe Al Mercato at the RE/MAX Waterfront Lounge, and cuisine from the Glowbal Group at the Park Royal Beachside Patio.

Music fans can take in over 50 concerts through the PARC Retirement Living Garden Concert Series, the Onni Group Sunset Concerts, the Hollyburn House Seniors Series, and Salsa-by-the-Sea.

Cinephiles can catch an outdoor screening of films every evening while North of Normal author Cea Sunshine Person will share her works.

Admission to the Harmony Arts Festival is free of charge. For more information, check out the event's website.
