From September 11 to 24, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival touches down at various Vancouver venues.

Founded in 1990, the festival nurtures flamenco's hybridized roots in Sephardic, Persian, Gypsy, and Indian cultures by striving to reflect and connect its diverse sociocultural identity through work narratives underlining the form's message of humanistic tolerance.

The Vancouver International Flamenco Festival's free workshops and ticketed events will spotlight performances by local, national, and international flamenco artists like Fuensanta "La Moneta", Calle Verde, Christina Tremblay, Fin de Fiesta, and Flamenco Rosario.

This year, the flamenco celebration is taking place at Waterfront Theatre, Vancouver Playhouse, Scotiabank Dance Centre, Vancouver Public Library, Centro Flamenco, and the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre.
