Vancouver Pride festivities may have wrapped up but that doesn't mean there aren't still Pride parties to come in the province. And just because Labour Day Weekend is over, it doesn't mean you can't continue to take some local escapades to make the most of the summer weather while it lasts.

Next up is the Salt Spring Island's 2017 Pride Festival.

The 13th annual edition kicks off tomorrow (September 6) and runs until Sunday (September 10).

The lineup will include a queer story sharing circle, a community meal, an open talent show, and, of course, lots of dancing (including a vogue-off).

There are also a number of musical performers including Canadian singer-songwriter and LGBT icon Ferron and her three-piece All-Star Band (who performed at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in July), as well as musician Ange Hehr (September 8).

The Salt Spring Pride Parade will be held on Saturday (September 9), departing at 1 p.m. and marching through Ganges Village. A celebration, complete with a DJ and dancing will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Then in the evening, Vancouver's Queer as Funk will bring down the house along with DJ Slade.

Things will wrap up on Sunday (September 10) with a free Unitarian Pride Service and a movie night.

The event is run by Diverse and Inclusive Salt Spring Island (DAISSI), formerly known as Gays and Lesbians of Salt Spring Island (GLOSSI).
