Hudson and the Marquis Hill Blacktet among new Coastal Jazz concerts

      Coastal Jazz has just announced a flurry of artists as part of its 2017-2018 concert series.

      On October 18, jazz supergroup Hudson takes the stage at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

      Juno nominee John Stetch and his New York quartet Vulneraville perform at a CD-release concert at Frankie's Jazz Club on October 19.

      On October 21, Chicago jazz ensemble the Marquis Hill Blacktet headlines at Frankie's Jazz Club.

      Pianist Matt Mitchell, saxophonist John Paton, and upright bassist James Meger take the stage at the Western Front on October 25.

      On November 24 and 25, American jazz ensemble the Jeremy Pelt Quintet plays two concerts at Fankie's Jazz Club.

      Jazz band MGB (composed of Matt Mitchell, Gordon Grdina, and Jim Black) headlines at the Western Front on January 26.

      On February 15, jazz guitarist Julian Lage performs with drummer Eric Doob and bassist Jorge Roeder at Frankie's Jazz Club.

      American jazz group the Dave King Trio takes the stage at Frankie's Jazz Club on February 18.

      On March 23, Canadian violinist Joshua Zubot performs with violinist Meredith Bates, violist Jesse Zubot, cellist Peggy Lee, and double bassist James Meger at the Western Front.

      Baritone saxophonist Gary Smulyan, pianist Tilden Webb, bassist Jodi Proznick, drummer Jesse Cahill, and a 10-piece string section play Pyatt Hall on April 6.

      On April 25, New York-based jazz group the Hot Sardines and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra take the stage at the Orpheum Theatre.
