On October 15, 7 pm, the Gloaming comes to the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (6265 Crescent Road, UBC).

The popular Celtic-American folk supergroup is known for its sean-nós (solo unaccompanied singing) and melancholic melodies, exhibited in its signature fusion of ancient tradition and contemporary experimentation.

Leading the Gloaming is Irish fiddling champion Martin Hayes, alongside fiddler Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, vocalist Iarla Ó Lionáird, guitarist Dennis Cahill, and pianist Thomas Bartlett.

As part of the Chan Centre Connects series, the public can also take in a fiddle master class with Martin Hayes (October 15, 11 a.m., at Celtic Traditions) and a pre-show artist talk with Martin Hayes (October 15, 6:15 p.m., at the Royal Bank Cinema).

Tickets for the Gloaming start at $46 and are available online or by calling 604-822-2697.
