Bin 942 closes, new Go Fish takes its place

Go on vacation for a couple of weeks and everything changes.

That’s how I felt walking to work today when I did a double-take outside of Bin 942 at 1521 West Broadway. The windows of the 12-year-old restaurant are papered up as the place is being renovated, poised to open later this summer as a new Go Fish location.

A news release confirms that Gord Martin, who owns Go Fish and the Bin restaurants, has closed Bin 942, while Bin 941 in the West End continues to operate as usual.

Unlike the location on Fisherman’s Warf at Granville Island, the West Broadway Go Fish will have a liquor license and offer B.C. wines by the glass. It will be open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily, with a menu similar to the original fish-and-chips stand plus “more substantial dinner specials”, including whole fish.

10pm? What's with all the early closing times?

      That's quite sad.
