Black Sabbath shouldn't reunite (again) unless it plans on playing "Supernaut"

The hard-rock world is all a-buzz right now with speculation about what Black Sabbath will announce at its press conference in L.A. this Friday. The pioneering metal quartet--guitarist Tony Iommi, singer Ozzy Osbourne, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward--will convene at the Whiskey A Go Go at 11 minutes past 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month of '11. The timing may indeed be a tribute to how high a certain Spinal Tap guitarist's amp went.

The group is widely expected to announce that it's been writing material for a new album (the original lineup hasn't recorded together since '78) and planning to play live (which it hasn't done since 2005). This doesn't jibe with what Butler said earlier this year, but those metalheads can be a flighty bunch.

If the mighty Sab does pull it together for another tour, here's hoping they spice up the setlist a bit. As well as stone-cold classics like "Iron Man" and "Paranoid", the band should definitely included the overlooked Volume 4 gem, "Supernaut". And the last time they went on the road they didn't play enough tracks from Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath, which I hereby declare to be their best album ever, even if Rob Halford doesn't agree.

Some hardcore Sabbath fans may frown on the idea of the original lineup performing again, especially considering how weak Ozzy's vocals were on his last tour. Instead of investing in tickets they should probably just buy this boxed set--which does include "Supernaut", by the way--and listen to it while reading this book.

There are better options for the play list: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, The Wizard, Sweat Leaf, NIB........

Playing Supernaut would be fantastic, but it's not going to happen IMHO.
I saw them at Thunderbird Stadium in 1999 and the band was great, but Ozzy's voice?
      Not so much.
But I am a Sabbath nut and will see them if they come around and I'll buy the record but I'm not expecting to hear any songs with the higher notes like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Hole in the Sky, Wheels of Confusion etc, etc.
