CATA’s Women in Technology Forum launches B.C. chapter

The newly formed B.C. chapter of the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance’s Women in Technology Forum will officially mark its launch with a lunchtime event on June 2.

Women in Tech: Accessing Knowledge, Career Opportunities and Capital will feature presentations by female leaders in the province’s technology sector, followed by networking sessions.

Catherine Boivie, CEO of Inventure Solutions; Cybele Negris, cofounder and chief operating officer of Webnames.ca; and Maria Pacella, investment manager for information technology at GrowthWorks, are scheduled to speak.

The event will take place at Simon Fraser University’s Segal Graduate School of Business in downtown Vancouver between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Registration costs $30 ($20 for students) and includes lunch.

CATA WIT’s mission is to help women participate and advance in the technology sector.

The B.C. chapter is cochaired by Tabitha Creighton and Joanne Hausch.
