Live Nation has announced that Victoria-based indie-rock group Current Swell will be performing at the Commodore Ballroom on Friday, February 1, 2013, in support of its fourth studio album, Long Time Ago.

Riding on the highs of successful online grass-roots campaigns and winning first place at Vancouver’s Peak Performance Project, the Canadian quartet has grown closer than ever.

The group--consisting of singer-guitarist Scott Stanton, singer-guitarist Dave Lang, drummer Chris Petersen, and bassist Ghosty Boy--started its career with modest expectations, playing shows in settings that ranged from backyards to beaches. The band has since gained momentum, sharing sets with the Tragically Hip, Xavier Rudd, K‘Naan, K-OS, the Beach Boys and more, and playing a Canada Day concert before 45,000 people at the B.C. Legislature last summer.

Tickets for the show are priced at $23.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (December 14) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets for the show are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at Red Cat Records, at all Ticketmaster Outlets and Rogers Wireless Box Office.
