FUSE: Heroes in the Street takes place at the Vancouver Art Gallery (750 Hornby Street) on Friday (November 9) from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The popular event, which combines art, music, and live performance, was inspired by Ian Wallace’s work, My Heroes in the Streets.

Featured performers at FUSE: Heroes in the Street include contemporary dancer Justine Chambers performing a piece inspired by everyday actions; dance duo MACHiNOiSY at the Rotunda; performance collective Coat (Centre of a Tangle), performing a work inspired by the ideas of heroism; and indie rock band In Medias Res, best known for its albums, Of What Was and It was Warm and Sunny when We First Set Out.

FUSE attendees will also be able to enjoy the gallery’s new exhibition, Ian Wallace: At the Intersection between Painting and Photography and Traffic: Conceptual Art in Canada 1965-1980.

Tickets to FUSE: Heroes in the Street are $17.50 and free for gallery members.
