TacoFino food cart brings street food to Khatsahlano! Music + Art Festival

With patio and restaurants filled to the brim with Khatsahlano! Music + Art Festival goers looking to beat the heat with an ice-cold beverage, those looking to refuel after stroller the shops up and down West 4th knew to head to the TacoFino food cart parked just west of Arbutus.

The bright orange and teal food truck is hard to miss (so is the long lineup outside the cart’s service window), but when it’s hot and sunny outside, there’s nothing like a taste of south of the boarder.

TacoFino’s menu includes fish tacos made from tempura-battered ling cod, chipotle mayo, shredded cabbage, and salsa served on a fire-toasted flour tortilla ($4.50); tuna tacos filled with sesame soy-seared albacore tuna, with wasabi-ginger mayo, shredded cabbage, mango salsa, and seaweed on a flour tortilla ($6.50); as well as a black bean taco made with refried black beans, sour cream, salsa, and cheese on a soft corn tortilla ($4.50).

One extra item on TacoFino’s menu called the Chocolate Diablo Cookie ($2.50) peaked my interest. While I didn’t have any room in my stomach to consume the giant cookie (nor the patience to wait in the 10-person-deep lineup), I saw a few people eating it, and it looked pretty indulgent. The Diablo cookie is a fudgy cookie made with fresh ginger and chili.
