Vancouver casting call for Canadian version of U.K. TV series The Audience

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Do you turn to online social media, such as Facebook or Twitter, to ask people for advice about your personal dilemmas?

Have you ever dreamt of doing that in real life, by assembling a group of people to discuss your problems and give you advice in person?

You may have a chance to live out that dream in a Canadian adaptation of the British TV series The Audience.

The show makes crowd sourcing literal by assembling a group of 50 people (complete strangers, by the way) to help one individual work through a life-changing decision. The group follows the person around for one week, offering advice and helping him or her to make a decision.

Are you thinking of becoming a foster parent? Is a significant age gap with a partner making you question whether or not you should stay in a relationship? Are you considering moving away from Metro Vancouver to somewhere more affordable? Are you debating about an arranged marriage?

These are just some of the issues that the locally shot version of the series will tackle.

Vancouver-based Force Four Productions is searching for Metro Vancouver participants, both for someone with a dilemma, and for people to become one of the 50 members of the group who will dole out their advice and observations. They're seeking a wide range of applicants from diverse age groups, backgrounds, and genders.

For more information, please visit the show's Facebook page.

Shooting will begin in late November and the deadline for applications is January 14, 2013.

Ew. Sounds both boring and creepy.

Intriguing... kind of like how it "takes a village" to come to the best conclusion. Interesting social experiment. Will be watching!

I've seen the UK version - its a brilliant show! Not to sound cheesy - but really puts your faith back in humanity and reality tv! I want to be involved!

My friend in England saw the Brit Audience, and he said it was amazing and quite a refreshing change to see people helping others who are having a hard time coming to a decision.
