Video: Speakers at Global Marijuana March in Vancouver criticize prohibition
On Saturday (May 1), pot activists and supporters gathered in downtown Vancouver to take part in the Global Marijuana March.
They marched from the Vancouver Art Gallery to English Bay Beach, where they heard from several speakers.
Marijuana historian Chris Bennett talks about the use of cannabis throughout history.
Cannabis Culture editor Jeremiah Vandermeer urges people to write to the federal government to stop the pending extradition of Vancouver marijuana advocate Marc Emery to the U.S.
Neil Magnuson of the Herb School says prohibition is the real crime.

I find it interesting that the georgia striaght is the only major media that covered the march yesterday in vancouver even though we closed the bussiest street in the city...

Hey Steve, maybe no major media bothered to cover your little rally because everybody knows stoners don't usually make rational arguments. Like the oft - quoted statement about how pot smoking isn't harmful. Come on, even a child knows that your lungs were designed for air only. No, I'm not a conservative pushing my views on society. As the name implies, I enjoy a toke every so often myself. But I try to not be so self delusional as to think that I'm not harming myself. Knowledge is helpful, rhetoric is not.
