Yahoo admits blocking Wall Street protest emails, says censorship was "not intentional"

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Yahoo apologized today (September 20) for accidentally blocking emails containing links to OccupyWallSt.org.

A few websites were reporting that emails they attempted to send were met with a message from the Internet corporation reading, “Your message was not sent. Suspicious activity has been detected on your account.”

Watch a video showing the error message generated by Yahoo when a user attempts to send an email containing a link to OccupyWallSt.org.

The blockage came about due to overactive spam filters, according to Yahoo. Users may experience some "residual delays", however.

You know, that explanation never worked for me in school, but it's nice to see a mega-corp responding to genuine censorship concerns in a timely fashion.

Of course, the real question is: who the hell is using Yahoo mail?

Where is the media coverage of Occupy Wall Street? Are there any ethical journalists left in America? And if there are none, where is the public outrage? And if not from the public, what of the pundits? Where is Michael Moore? Where is Dylan Ratigan? Where is Alex Jones? Where are any of the talking head "heroes"? What are they? Judas goats? Charlatans? Cowards? Or all of the above?

Michael Moore was on MSNBC yesterday and brought it up and basically called them out. MSNBC is now talking about it, albeit mildly.
A real journalist is hard to find these days!!

This minor step of "Occupying Wall Street" is really just the first step in "The Coming Insurrection" [Negri] or the global revolution "Against Empire" [Parenti]:

Naturally, there is little media coverage by the ruling global corporate/financial/militarist Empire which now controls our former country by hiding behind the facade of its 'bought and owned' TWO-Party modernized "Vichy" sham of faux-democratic government --- just as the Nazi Empire when it was trying to control Europe and the world installed its crude, first-generation, single-party "Vichy" facade of government in Vichy France c. 1940.

What is starting to happen today in this uncoordinated 'Occupy Wall Street' protest in the US, which is the nominal and temporary headquarters of this entirely new scale of post-nation-state global Empire, is the beginning of what could quickly become a Second American (and world) Revolution "Against Empire" [Michael Parenti] --- and that naturally scares the hidden, well disguised, and generally undiagnosed global corporate/financial/militarist EMPIRE to death --- and thus they (the global Empire) will use all power in their hands; political, media, money, and ultimately military, to crush this nascent, if improperly named revolution "Against Empire"

Okay, censorship is bed. Yes it is. But a)Michael Moore a respectable journalist?? Please. And b) I'm not a member of this so-called "corporate/financial/militarist Empire" you speak of, and the idea of another "revolution" scares the pants off me. If you don't like the way things are, go live somewhere else. Or work for change - don't advocate abolition of the "violent Empire" by means of violence. It kind of defeats your own argument.

Pass it on. Three million people march on Wall Street, the last Friday in October. Rise Up Peacefully. Main Street confronts Wall Street.

      Blocking public comments is censorship.
Censorship enforced "in" "out" goes freedom of speach!
