Nike unveils strain-inspired kicks for 4/20

      It's official—4/20 has been coolhunted.

Nike announced a SB Dunk Mid “White Widow” edition in honour of the beloved day to celebrate weed. Designed by skate artist, Todd Bratrud, the sneaker features red, pale green, and off-white distressed suede, presumably to emulate the frosty buds of its namesake, and a stash pocket under the tongue (now the cops know where to look, thanks.) The insole sports a graphic of a bloodshot white widow custom-designed by Bratrud and a red hourglass, the calling card of a widow spider, on the soul.

This is not the skateboarder’s first weed-themed collab with Nike. In 2010, he designed a green and purple Nike Dunk Hi SB “Skunk” edition and, in 2011, paid tribute to the world’s two most famous stoners with a “Cheech and Chong” edition playing off of Cheech Marin’s red paisley bandana.

The only thing that might make these shoes better would be a complimentary nug of White Widow preloaded in the stash pocket.

The release date is set for April 20th, 2018 and will be available at select Nike SB retailers worldwide. The shoes will come in men’s size only and run about $100 USD.
