The B.C. government is looking for people eager to work for its cannabis division.

The Liquor Distribution Branch website reveals that it's trying to fill several positions, with closing dates for applications before the end of this month.

The highest-paying job is "director distribution, cannabis operations", which has a salary range of $86,000 to $112,000 per year.

The successful applicant will be based in Vancouver. He or she will lead and direct all aspects of the LDB's cannabis distribution operations.

This includes "e-commerce fulfillment to drive profitable growth and achieve business objectives".

Another Vancouver-based position up for grabs is "manager, space planning, cannabis operations". The salary range is $61,665.45 to $70,367.02 per year.

This person will be "responsible to define the optimum use of space on a sub-category by sub-category basis while minimizing investment in layout and space" within stores.

The LDB is also seeking an "assistant manager, cannabis operations" at its Kamloops retail outlet. Annual pay will range from $46,337.21 to $52,488.28.

The same wage range is being offered for a Richmond-based "team lead, customer care centre, cannabis operations".

In addition, there are "multiple vacancies" for Kamloops-based cannabis consultants. These jobs pay between $20.41 to $23.64 per hour.

There are only two legal cannabis stores in the province, one in Kamloops and the other in Kimberley.

Last month, the B.C. government revealed that it had received 173 paid applications for legal weed outlets.

Any stores that are approved by the province must also receive a green light from local governments.
