Fraser Valley police have busted an illicit processing lab in Chilliwack that was chemically enhancing cannabis.

Chilliwack RCMP, including the RCMP clandestine laboratory team, used a search warrant under the Cannabis Act at a warehouse at Harvard Place, a cul-de-sac off Airport Road, in Chilliwack on November 14.

Police seized extraction equipment, butane, propane, approximately 250 pounds of dried cannabis, and about 30 pounds of cannabis oil or resin.

Officers arrested a man in his 20s, who has not been identified, for illegal production using chemicals to alter cannabis.

Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment Supt. Bryon Massie stated in a news release that the use of the chemicals poses a "significant risk to the neighbouring tenants of this warehouse".

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Chilliwack RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
