In what appears to be a follow up to Project Gator, the Toronto Police Service raided a B.C.-owned chain of dispensaries last week, resulting in the arrest of two Vancouverites.

This morning, TPS published a news release detailing Project Lincoln, an investigation which saw a series of raids conducted last Thursday (June 22) at seven Canna Clinic dispensaries and six residences in Toronto, as well as six different locations around Vancouver.

In B.C., TPS was assisted by the RCMP and the Vancouver Police Department.

In all, 80 Canna Clinic employees were arrested, charged, and released on scene, according to the report.

It also alleges that police seized one vehicle, 178 kilograms of marijuana, 48 kilograms of edibles, 6.8 kilograms of shatter, 19 kilograms of cannabis resin, and more than $350,000 in cash.

Of the six search warrants executed in B.C., one was issued at a property on Denman Island, near McFarland Road and Reginald Drive.

In Vancouver, warrants were executed at locations near Prince Albert Street and East 30th Avenue, Nelson Street and Burrard Street, Granville Street and West 13th Avenue, West 4th Avenue and Balsam Street, and Hornby Street and Nelson Street. No specific addresses were given in the report.

Canna Clinic dispensaries in Vancouver are located at 2223 Commercial Drive, 1812 West 4th Avenue, 725 Nelson Street, and 2347 East Hastings Street. The Straight has confirmed that all four remain open.

The two Vancouverites arrested in connection with the raids are 23-year-old Caitlan Campbell and 24-year-old Theodora Crane.

Both are charged with one count of possession of substance II (cannabis) for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime. Campbell and Crane were scheduled to appear in court in Toronto on Friday (June 23).

This is the second time this year that the VPD has assisted TPS in an investigation related to cannabis dispensaries.

In March, the VPD raided the Cannabis Culture Headquarters at 370 West Hastings Street as part of Project Gator. Warrants were also executed at Cannabis Culture stores in Toronto and Hamilton, and owners Marc and Jodie Emery were arrested.
