Dorothea Hayley has won praise for her “amazing coloratura skills” (Opera Canada), and her duo with Manuel Laufer has been lauded for "its very personal creative power” (Badener Zeitung).  consists of Vancouver-based soprano Dorothea Hayley and Venezuelan pianist Manuel Laufer, and is familiar to Vancouver audiences from the Blueridge Festival. Night Sparks is a journey through centuries of music inspired by nocturnal wonders: from beloved classics of Schubert and Purcell, through 20th Century masterpieces by Webern, Cage, Babbitt, and Vivier, to recent works by Ka-Shu Tam and BC composer Dorothy Chang.
